Kampong Cham

The Kampong Cham province, or Kompong Cham, lying on the banks of the imposing Mekong river, is the historical center that has some buildings dating back to the French colonial period, while in the immediate vicinity of the city are the remains of the pre-Nakor temple Wat Nokor, offering a nice complex of buildings made of stone. There is also an interesting river island on the Mekong, connected to the city by a long bamboo bridge, which has many temples and crops of tobacco and sesame.
