In the past, to "conquer" Fansipan you need to have enough skills and physical strength to climb the mountain for a few days, this is the only type for those who like adventure travel and not many people can set foot on This "legendary" peak. Since February 2016, Fansipan cable car has been inaugurated to create more opportunities for domestic and foreign tourists to Fansipan and make Fansipan Legend also one of the destinations not to be missed when traveling to Sapa.

This cable car route has 2 Guinness records for the world's longest three-wire cable car system (6292.5 m) and has the highest difference between the departure and the highest station in the world (1410 m), designed from the yard. The station to the cable line is all very modern, also there are the restaurant or the souvenir shop with good service quality.




Sun World Fansipan Legend cable car station located about 5 km from Sapa town, there will be trams to transfer you to station.


Operation hours of cable cars:

  • 7:30 am: start picking up passengers
  • 16:30: stop receiving guests
  • 17h: invite visitors to get down the mountain
  • The best time of day to visit is at noon or early afternoon. At that time, the sky was airy, the temperature was also higher, making it possible to see the panoramic view comfortably. 


Cable car will not bring you to the top so if you want to touch the landmark on Mount Fansipan you have 2 options, either climbing 600 stone steps or using Muong Hoa train.

Besides the milestone that everyone wants to touch, on top of Fansipan there is a complex of Bich Van Thien Tu pagoda with a complex of works of Ha, Lau Chuong, Lau Trong and Dai Hong Chung pagodas.
