MOUNT BATUR VOLCANIC TREK

Watching the sunrise on Mount Batur and enjoying an egg or a banana cooked on a fumarole is an experience you will remember for the rest of your life.

Land of Fire

The Gunung Batur region is a partially submerged basin with many spectacular volcanic passes. Its extraordinary geology allows it to keep its turquoise waters surrounding the most recent volcanoes, are observable on clear days.

Mount Batur has the peculiarity of having its crater inside ... another crater (what is called "double caldera"). The volcano has a regular geological activity, with the last eruption in 2000.

- Possibility of trek of 2 days / 1 night to watch the sunrise.

- The Pura Ulun Danu Batur Temple, considered one of the most important in Bali.

- Eating a cooked egg or banana on a fumarole

For which kind of traveller?

Not recommended with small children. Recommended for all adventurers wishing to discover an exceptional setting. Difficult but accessible for any fit hiker, without pushing your physical limits.

During which part of your trip?

In the middle of your stay. The ideal is to acclimatize to the jet lag at first.

Good to know

The ascent can be done at night, departure from the hotel at 2 am. A sunrise over a volcano is well deserved.
