Vietnamese language  

 Vietnamese language is written in Latin characters, but it is a tonal language with 6 different tones and a variety of dialects from region to region.

The Latin script which clashes with other scripts and local Indian languages​​, is due to the period of evangelization by the Portuguese Jesuits in the 17th century. The latter found it easier to impose this writing which replaced those present in that territory and that differed from north to south. This transcript was called Chu Quoc Ngu.
